Description

Ring with a replica of a Greek didrachm (two drachmas) dated 480–450 BC, found in the ancient city of Neapolis, Macedonia.

The so-called Gorgoneion was a protective amulet depicted with the image of the Gorgon, usually sticking out its tongue between its fangs.

It was used as an apotropaic symbol and placed on doors, walls, house entrances, coins, shields, cuirasses… in the hope of warding off all evil.

Diameter: 18 mm.

Ring made of sterling silver with an open adjustable band.

All our products come in perfect gift packaging, along with a card detailing the origin of the original piece and the replica, and another card explaining how to keep the jewellery in perfect condition.
