Medusa earrings
In ancient Greece, the gorgoneion was an apotropaic amulet (magical defense mechanism to ward off evil or protect itself from it).
Induced the horror by showing the head of the Gorgon Medusa. It was related to Zeus and Athena, as it was said that they both wore an earring with this motif and their Aegis shield.

The decorative motif shows the essential characteristics of the Gorgon: troubled hair, penetrating gaze, open mouth and snakes coming out of its neck.
