Ram head earrings
Replica of hoop earrings with animal head trims. This type of earrings were very popular during the Hellenistic period. This ram-headed example represents the common type that appeared in many different models and sizes during the 4th to 1st centuries B.C.
To create the body of the hoop, a thin thread is wound around the animal and narrows. The earring is fastened by hooking the finest end of the hoop through a small ring, under the fleece's chin.
