Winged bull, also known as Lamassu. These gigantic figures guarded the sides of the gates into Assyrian citadels or palaces, and were intended to deter evil of all kinds from entering.
The Assyrians moved each bull in one piece. There are two types of Lamassu; Winged bulls that have the body of a bull, wings and a human face. Or winged lions that have the body od a lion, wings and a human face. The easiest way to differentiate is to look at the hooves, or paws.
